Canon IXUS 800 IS

I have just bought a new compact camera, the Canon IXUS 800 IS and it is fabulous, no questions it just is!

The specifications are 6 megapixels, 4 x optical zoom and the fairly new Digic II processing chip which is probably the best on the market. It has a viewfinder so you can put your eye to this and take photos like in the old days and it also has a 2.5 inch LCD screen on the back of the camera. It also has a Image Stabilizer. This means if you hold it out at arms length and focus using the LCD screen on the back, the image will be stabilized thus avoiding camera shake. By the way if you have a viewfinder use it, you'll get far less camera shake with the camera glued to your eyeball. Humans cannot hold cameras at arms length without shaking to some degree. So why did I buy this when I have a Canon 20D SLR digital camera? It is handy to have a compact camera and my previous compact a Canon G3 while a fabulous camera was not small enough to put in my pocket.
